Your questions answered…
Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we’ve had from our visitors.
Do you accept dogs?
Yes! We love dogs! We know that many dogs love cuddles on the sofa, so we ask that you bring a blanket to cover and protect the sofas if you know they’ll be up there! We do politely ask that they stay off the beds! Muddy paw prints are hard to get out of linen. We can’t wait to meet them!
We ask that you bring your own dog bowls and beds.
Can we have early check-in, or late check-out?
Please feel free to ask, but most likely the answer will be no, because we manage the three cottages and do all the change – overs ourselves. We usually only have 6 hours to turn all three cottages around for the next guests, so stretch ourselves too thin by offering early/late departures. We will always do our best to facilitate it if we can, but to protect having to let anyone down on the day, we are likely to say no.
EV Charging Point
We do have a charging point for your electric car! We also have an EV, so just let us know when you would like to charge, and we will move our car. We ask that you cover the cost, at 30p per unit. Again, we do not profit on this, just ask that you cover the cost.
Do you have freezers?
Garden View and Poppies Cottage has a freezer, but Owls does not. We are more than happy to store your frozen foods (most popular is ice cream!) in our freezer for you, we have plenty of space and are usually around to give it back, or just text us.
Extras for the cottages…
We have a highchair, a travel cot, plastic cutlery, plates and bowls, an iron and ironing board, and an airer for airing towels, clothes. Please let us know if you would like any of these at your earliest convenience, because they are given out on a first come first served basis.
A washing machine and tumble dryer are available for use on our campsite, neighbouring your cottage. They are £1/hr. We have washing pods you can use.
Linen
Your cottage comes with high quality linen, including bath towels, bathmat, hand towel and tea towels. If you think you’ll require extra towels or linen, please bring extras along with you.
The log burner in Garden View…
The first basket of wood is provided, and additional bags are (usually) available to buy from us, at variable cost, we just ask you to pay whatever we have paid for it, usually about £7. Places like Greendale Farm, The Range and local petrol stations also sell sacks of firewood.
Televisions
Garden View and Poppies have full sky packages, but if you opt to purchase any additional films or sports from the Sky Store, we ask that you are honest and settle up in cash before you leave.
Do you take stag or hen do’s and can we hire multiple cottages?
Yes, we are very happy to host any sort of event, having three cottages so close together is perfect for special events! We would love you to please let us know about your event. And as there are often other guests around too, we ask that music is respectfully turned down at 9.30pm and off by 10pm on week nights, and down by 10pm and off by 11pm on weekends.
Parking
There is free parking for up to 2 vehicles per cottage.

What a little gem Garden View is! Ben and Katharyn are inviting host and are keen to ensure that your holiday is as comfortable as possible. The cottage has many relaxing and quirky features with lots of history behind it. From the local scenery, the cottage, the hot tub to the hosts, this was a perfect break away that we didnt want to end!!! We wouldnt hesitate to recommend to anyone thinking of staying here. We have already rebooked to return in May 2022.

Katharyn and Ben could not have been more welcoming, The cottage is lovely and has everything we needed. The hot tub is great after a day exploring the south coast. I guess the ultimate test is “would we come again?”…You had better believe it, unless you get your booking in soon I might beat you to it!

We had the most amazing stay at Poppies cottage. The cottage was so cosy and clean and has everything you need! The owners are absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble. They even came round with some fresh flowers and potatos from their garden. We cant wait to come back again! My little boy cried when we left! We had such an amazing time!
