Your stay in Poppies Cottage at Brooklands Farm

This pretty, single-storey, semi-detached cottage is located in the grounds of the owners’ home and offers an ideal location from which to explore the historic cathedral city of Exeter, the delights of East Devon and surrounding areas. Poppies comprises one double bedroom and one twin bedroom (which could also be made up as another double), a shower room, kitchen and sitting/dining room with a private, secluded courtyard garden, complete with barbecue area, patio furniture and hot-tub. Exposed beams and a vaulted ceiling add charm and character to this cosy cottage.

The wooden façade of the cottage is truly enchanting, giving a sense of fairy-tale. Entering through the private courtyard, the front door opens to a cosy sitting/dining room, with comfortable seating arranged to view the television and offering informal and relaxed dining.

The galley-style kitchen is well appointed and offers an under-counter fridge, microwave, gas hob and electric oven.

The first of the bedrooms, overlooking the courtyard, is offered with a king-size bed and oak furniture. The second bedroom is found through the sitting room and can be arranged as a twin or a double room. This is another beautifully decorated room and boasts a stained-glass window depicting the Poppies from which the cottage gets its name.

A contemporary shower room and WC completes the accommodation inside whilst the secluded and private courtyard offers an ideal spot to sit and relax after a day out, whether soaking in the hot tub or turning sausages on the barbecue.

Conveniently located for many sights and attractions, Poppies can comfortably accommodate 2, 3 or 4 adults or a family with two children, (or three if they fit in a travel cot!) A high-chair and/or cot can be available by request and up to two well-behaved dogs are also welcome. Two parking spaces are available with this property.

‘We provide all cottages with the following on arrival, to make sure your stay is as comfortable and ‘home from home’ as possible.

Linen and towels, toilet roll, tea, coffee, sugar, kitchen necessities like tea towels and dishcloths and soaps. Each cottage has a hair dryer, iron, ironing board and clothes horse. Please remember to bring your own hot tub/beach towels with you and if you’re bringing your dog(s), we politely ask that you please bring a blanket to protect sofas so you can enjoy cuddles on there!‘

Poppies is a stunningly beautiful yet cosy cottage where my fiance, my daughter and I had the most wonderful week’s holiday. From the tasteful decor to the comfy beds and well-equipped kitchen, it’s the ideal place to relax. The hot tub is fabulous and very secluded. The location is great for exploring the beautiful Devon coast. Ben & Katharyn are lovely people & wonderful, caring hosts. We will definitely come back to Poppies Cottage.

We had the most amazing stay at Poppies cottage. The cottage was so cosy and clean and has everything you need! The owners are absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble. They even came round with some fresh flowers and potatos from their garden. We cant wait to come back again! My little boy cried when we left! We had such an amazing time!

Katharyn and Ben could not have been more welcoming, The cottage is lovely and has everything we needed. The hot tub is great after a day exploring the south coast. I guess the ultimate test is “would we come again?” You had better believe it, unless you get your booking in soon I might beat you to it!
